Top Australian Lifestyle Blogs to Follow
July 29, 2015
Trawling the internet for design tips and general inspiration is, for us, a daily activity. Finding a good lifestyle blog is like finding a good friend – you find yourself wanting to return to it day after day. If you’re interested in checking out some of our Australian favourites, then get clicking through this list, down below!
Christian Soong has nailed the brief on The Hungry Australian – which, by the way, is much more than just a food blog. As well as featuring some of the best food photography out there, The Hungry Australian is full of lifestyle tips (like how to know if someone like-likes you), travel stories, and blog posts on emotional eating. The best lifestyle blogs are always the most relatable.
Despite the name, Georgina Reid’s Planthunter blog is about more than just green things and gardens. She’s packed the blog full of travel tales, recipes, home design ideas, and a bunch of really great interviews. That said, it’s also full of great plant-related advice: flower care, herb tips, and more! You can check out our creative director pressing flowers, here.
Oh how we love a good pun. Style She Spoke is amongst the best of Australian lifestyle blogs for ladies (and non-ladies) who ride. You’ll find practical, non-offensive tips for bike-riding fashion, along with some excellent bike-related photo essays. We love our bikes here at Arro Home, so we’re always very receptive to the bike-love at Style She Spoke.
The Kids section is one of our favourite things about We Are Scout – a fantastic lifestyle and design blog run by Lisa Tilse and Rebecca Lowrey Boyd. There are craft ideas for school holidays, bedroom design tips, gift-buying advice… basically everything you need when it comes to the kids in your life.
The husband-wife duo at Grown and Gathered are very, very big on sustainable living. In their day-to-day lives they grow and forage for food and trade their amazing organic flowers. Lentil and Matt’s blog is great for stories of flower-trading, super nourishing recipes, and how-to guides. Ever wanted to make your own butter? They’ve got some tips right here!
Frankly, we’re a little bit food obsessed at Arro Home, whipping out napkins at every chance we get. Not Quite Nigella is the perfect mix of recipes and restaurant reviews – with a healthy serving of food photos to go with! Some of our favourite posts include the Crab & Harissa Soup and the Spiced Pumpkin Ice Cream. The recipes are top notch (and not too difficult) but, even better, they all come embedded with Lorraine Elliott’s often hilarious stories. Lifestyle blogs are for reading, after all, and this read is a goodie!
